The 'Edge' Newsletter
Has anyone heard of or know the Vineyard Genetic Code?
As a community of Vineyard churches, we share these common set of beliefs and actions:
Ø Clear, accurate Biblical teaching
Ø Contemporary worship in the freedom of the Holy Spirit
Ø The gifts of the Holy Spirit in Operation
Ø An active small group ministry
Ø Ministry to the poor, widows, orphans, and those who are broken
Ø Physical healing with emphasis on signs and wonders as seen in the book of Acts
Ø A commitment to missions – church planting at home and world missions abroad
Ø Unity within the whole body of Christ; a relationship with other local churches
Ø Evangelistic outreach
Ø Equipping the saints in areas such as discipleship, ministry, serving, giving finances, family, etc.
So, as a youth, how does this apply to us?
I am so excited for what’s to come to our re-vamped, new, joint youth group!
. . . A safe place for us to challenge, grow, and practice our faith, gifts, callings, . . .
. . And then bring it to our churches, our communities, and. . .
. . the WORLD!
(muah-ha-haa!)
-jk -kinda . . .
How can we engage with God, with each other, and with everyone else?
Galations 6:7-10 (NLT) says, “You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.”
Let us be a youth group who will harvest from the Spirit and doesn’t tire from planting seeds of everlasting life through our actions. Let us serve and be a ministry to one another as a family, as a community, a body of Christ, at every opportunity we get – because our time is running short. Let us set our focus on what is good, . . .
because, in the end, no one ever regrets going after something good.
See you on Sunday :o)
