Pant for God, Be the Bread
Mar 6, 2008
This Sunday, we had great discussion about our dreams, keeping up our passion for God by thirsting for Him, and bringing that passion and life into the church. Lots of passionate dialogue and prayer, and it was hard to end the night! Do you ‘Pant’ for God? Psalm 42 says, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go to meet with God?” Then Psalm 63 talks about our whole body thirsting for God as...

"Whisper in my Ear"
Feb 24, 2008
This week we spent some time praying and hearing from God. Beth and Pat shared some sweet stories of what God was doing with you at church when you folks were tiny tots. Some of you received some visions and words. It was such a refreshing, edifying night! Our prayer times are our communion with God. How eager are we to talk and have conversation with Him? Do we NEED to hear from him? I believe that in order to live a life that is intentional and full, we need to hear from God all the time. Not just...

Superbowl Message
Feb 10, 2008
Thank you, Carol, Tom and family for hosting the youth for the Superbowl on Sunday! We had such a great turnout – how many did we fit into the TV room? 40? It was an exciting game too . . . Lots of cheering, comical comments, directive shouting at the players on the field in the TV screen even though they can’t hear us . . . I wonder if the angels in heaven watch us, in our day-to-day lives, in the same fashion? The bible talks about them cheering and rejoicing every...

Shame on Nobody
Feb 3, 2008
This Sunday we read over Psalm 19 and talked about all kinds of fascinating stuff. Does God “WOW!” You? How does all of creation speak the character of God? Do we love and desire his word more than anything else? Are the words that we speak pleasing to him and bring him glory? Do we ask him daily to search and reveal and cleanse our hearts so that we may approach the great ‘I AM’ in with obedience, reverence, and purity? After all, we cannot hide anything from God (Psalm 19:6, Psalm 139:7, 12)...

World Religion, the Bible, and God
Jan 27, 2008
How many of you are thankful for Tom Montgomery taking two Sundays to come teach some good theology about World Religions and about how the Bible was put together? I believe that the more knowledge we have, the more capable and less narrow-minded we sound in speaking to others about our faith effectively. So, thank you, Tom and what a blessing! Here’s a great, illustrative short video about the difference between world religions and Christianity that I think you might like to check out: It’s called “A Man Fell In A Hole” http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey=9dc6f227f9133ba2dfd3 Lately, I’ve been thinking about how...

Abortion
Jan 10, 2008
How is everyone doing? We had a pretty intense Plunge this past Sunday. Thank you, Jonathon for bringing in the video from the International House Of Prayer on the topic of abortion! I’m sorry to all that we ran out of time and didn’t get to see the whole teaching or have a longer discussion afterwards. Abortion is a sad reality and a controversial issue today. The magnitude of loss of life is a tragedy that deeply grieves God, as any tragedy would. I believe that it is the result of a multitude of sins and...

The Living Word
Jan 6, 2008
Isaiah 55:10-11 “The rain and snow come down from the heavens And stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, Producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, And it will prosper everywhere I send it.” God’s word and truth always produces fruit. How encouraging is that? Proverbs 18:21 says that the tongue can bring life or death. That means that every time...

Christmas Promise
Dec 30, 2007
Isaiah 43 (NLT) “Do not be afraid, for I have randsomed you. I have called you by name; you are MINE. When you go through deep waters I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, You will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, You will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, The Holy One, your Savior Others were given in exchange for yours Because you are precious to me. You are honored, and I love you...

Washed In Wisdom
Dec 23, 2007
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snoooow . . . ~ the 1st snow is always so pretty ~ I can’t believe it’s Christmas already next week!! Are you ready? Is the world ready for what’s to come? This week, I’ve been reading a lot on bible references to water. Water cleanses, it is used for baptism, and for some reason also makes me think of the Holy Spirit. In the physical world, water sustains life. But in other references in the bible, water is also used to...

To Die For
Dec 16, 2007
“And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. For me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.” -Philippians 1:21-24 Last Plunge, we had interesting...
